Renewed Materials, LLC, is an active supporter of The Starfish Programme, an educational scholarship plan initiated in 2002 in Kampala, Uganda. The main recipients of support are motivated young mothers who have gone through crisis pregnancies, and children of Mirembe House who are otherwise unable to attend school. Ninety percent of funds donated go directly to benefit these youth and their educational endeavors. The remaining ten percent of the funds cover administration costs and wiring fees. Volunteers are not compensated and use their own resources to pay for travel and accommodation expenses.
The STARFISH PROGRAMME is a division of Mirembe House,a social outreach of Youth for Christ International (YFCI), and is facilitated by volunteers in Colorado, USA.
You, too, can make a difference with a financial donation to help educate the children. To contribute, or to learn more about ongoing sponsorship opportunities that can make a lasting difference and improve lives, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Kiva is an organization that allows people to lend money via the Internet to microfinance institutions in developing countries around the world and in the United States, which in turn lend the money to disadvantaged entrepreneurs. By making credit available in a transparent and accountable way, microlending can allow motivated, yet impoverished people to take advantage of economic opportunities to improve their lives and their communities.
Renewed Materials is an active lender in the Kiva community. See how we’re making a difference on our Kiva lender page.
